You will discover that we have a very nice village here in Jurgów. There are several place which you must see. First is our historic wooden church. (See separate section about it) In Jurgów we also have a museum. It is The Museum of Spisz Folk Culture made from the old historic house. It is a part of the larger Tatra Museum System administered from Zakopane.
The best of the attractions I is the old shepherd's village. It is not really a village where people live, but rather a collection of old wooden shepherd's cabins, houses and stables. People stay in them only Spring through Fall while they are grazing their cows. Before these wooden structures were clustered near Jurgów, they were found in various locations in the Tatra Mountains. They where in locations where people from Jurgów grazed their cows long ago. Once the people were no longer allowed to graze in the Tatras, they decided to move all of their cabins, houses and stables to this one place closer to the village.
There is also an historic water powered sawmill in Jurgów. And it is still working.
